BRING YOUR TEAM! Get ready for one of the most exciting soccer events of the year! Capitol City FC partners with Sacramento Hmong New Year (SHNY) to present its annual 2026-2027 Hmong New Year Soccer Tournament, bringing together talented teams to compete for cash prizes and bragging rights!
Tournament Details:
Date: Saturday, November 28 - Sunday, November 29, 2026
Location: Mather Sports Complex located 3755 Schriever Ave., Mather CA 95655
Men's Team Registration fee: $150 (7v7, 8v8, 9v9), $350 (11v11)
Divisions & Prizes:
Men's 8v8 [1st place $1000, 2nd place $500] (see player restrictions below)
Women's 5v5 [ Exhibition ] - Free
Team Requirements & Tournament Rules:
1. Team Registration
- Each team must submit a completed registration form and pay the entry fee.
- A coach or team manager must be listed as the main contact.
2. Roster
- Final roster is due Thursday, November 26th, 2026; no changes or late additions allowed.
- Each player may only play for ONE team in the tournament
3. Player Eligibility
- Players must present a valid photo ID for verification at check-in
- Team must have minimum 6 Hmong players on the field/in the game at one time.
- Player must be able to provide proof of Hmong identify if player does not have a Hmong last name (birth certificate)
- A maximum of 2 non-Hmong allowed on the field/in the game at one time.
4.Tournament Rules
- FIFA rules apply unless otherwise stated by tournament officials
- 9v9 rules apply
- NO sliding or slide tackling. 1st slide will constitute a foul, 2nd slide will be carded accordingly
- Game length: 2X30 minute halves
- Ties in group stage stand; knockout rounds will go to overtime and penalty kicks if needed.
- Substitutions allowed on referee approval
- Maximum 18 players rostered
5. Conduct & Sportsmanship
- Fighting, verbal threats, abusive language, or unsportsmanlike conduct will result in team disqualification from the tournament
- Alcohol or drugs are not permitted on or near the playing field
- Coaches and managers are responsible for their teams's behavior
6. Liability
- All players must sign a waiver before playing
- Tournament committee is not responsible for injuries, lost items, or personal property.
